InsightViscosity names the variable resistance encountered when understanding moves through people, formats, institutions and scales. Some ideas circulate rapidly because they fit established language and procedure; others slow down because they require new distinctions, situated experience or structural change. Slowness does not necessarily indicate weakness, just as speed does not guarantee clarity. Low viscosity may produce accessibility or sloganisation. High viscosity may preserve complexity or protect specialised authority. The operator therefore examines how the speed demanded of an insight changes its form, asking what must be lost, acquired or reorganised before understanding can move through a particular medium.
